FAQs
This depends on their individual needs. We try to carry out as much training and assessment as possible whilst they are on the job. Occasionally some learners may need additional time off the job.
Individual or group training sessions are provided to all learners to meet their training needs. The assessors will give staff feedback about how well they are doing their job and will support and guide them into making improvements where necessary. Your staff will be provided with a useful workbook that they can keep which provides hints and tips on how to carry out their duties.
The assessors will usually visit weekly for between 1 and 2 hours per employee. It can take between six and twelve visits to
complete the award. The total time taken depends on the qualification subject and the experience and capabilities of the employee.
The qualification is FREE to eligible people. This is because the Government is committed to raising the skill level of people in the workplace. We work with local colleges who have secured funding from local Learning & Skills Councils.
No prior qualifications are necessary. Staff must work in the relevant occupational field. Free training is available to those staff who do not already hold an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. For staff with prior qualifications, please speak to us about fees. We can help staff who have literacy problems or who do not speak English as their first language.
